Free app testers for your Google Play closed test

New personal developer accounts need 12 testers opted in for 14 days before Google Play grants production access. TestersWiz is a free test-for-test exchange: you test another developer's app, they test yours, and every opt-in is checked against Play Console. No money changes hands.

How can app testers be free?

Because every tester here is a developer who needs testers too. The currency is testing, not money: you give a test, you get a test. Tester seats are earned by trading or filled by developers who volunteer, and they are never sold, so there is nothing to buy even if you wanted to.

That is also why the testers are real people with real Android phones: the only way into the exchange is to show up for someone else first.

How does it work?

  1. 1

    Apply to test 1 app

Send 1 application to test another developer's app. That is the whole price of listing: you do not need to be accepted, and you do not need to finish a test first.

  2. 2

    List your app, free

Add your app name, package name and the opt-in link from your closed testing track in Play Console. There is no payment step and no card.

  3. 3

Trade tests to fill your 12 seats

Propose a trade to another developer: you test their app, they test yours. Developers can also volunteer to test yours on their own. Every trader has a public record of trades completed and failed.

  4. 4

Verify each opt-in in Play Console

Tick a tester off only when you see them in your closed track's tester list. Nobody counts on someone's word.

  5. 5

    Run your 14 days

Testers send scheduled screenshot check-ins during the window. There is no cap on testers, so a replacement can join if someone drops out, and you confirm the testers who held up their end at the end.

What makes a free tester count?

Google counts a tester who opted in through your closed track's opt-in link and stays opted in. Being on your email list is not enough, and neither is installing a copy of the APK. The 14 days must be continuous: if your count drops below 12, the window breaks until you are back.

So recruit more than 12, check the count in Play Console every few days, and replace anyone who leaves the same day. The production access date calculator tells you when your testers will have their 14 days.

What are the other free ways to find testers?

Friends and family with Android phones, your own audience, developer communities and forums all cost nothing but time. The hard part with each is not finding twelve people, but keeping twelve opted in for fourteen days. We have compared them honestly, including the paid services and when those are the better choice.

What can free testing not do?

Guarantee production access. Google alone decides, after reviewing your application, and anyone who promises approval is promising something they do not control. What real testers give you is a test you can describe honestly when Google asks how it went.

Which apps are looking for testers right now?

Test one of these and get testers for your own app back.

FitLifeApp is a daily habit and goal-tracking app that helps users monitor water intake, step goals, and mood entries. Please test the following: - Set a daily water goal, add water intake, and check whether the totals and remaining amount update correctly. - Set a step goal and check the progress display. - Add mood entries and review previous records. - Close and reopen the app to check whether your saved data is still available. - Use the app on different days to check daily tracking and history. - Check for confusing navigation, overlapping text, or buttons that do not work correctly. Please join the Google Group and the Google Play closed test using the same Google account. Install the app through Google Play and stay enrolled for at least 14 consecutive days, using its features during the testing period. When reporting a problem, include what happened, the steps to reproduce it, your device model, and Android version. Screenshots are welcome. Thank you for helping improve FitLifeApp!

Hi! I’m looking for testers for Crew Bites, a Flutter app that helps groups organize food orders, track who ordered what, and calculate the final bill fairly. Please test the main flow: add people, add food orders, select a restaurant/bundle, add tax/service/tip/delivery, review the total, and save or share the result. I’d especially appreciate feedback about usability, layout, performance, and any bugs on your Android device. Thank you!

Common questions

Are the testers on TestersWiz really free?
Yes. No money changes hands for testing: you send 1 application to test another developer's app, then list yours free. Tester seats are earned by trading tests or filled by volunteers, and are never sold.
How many testers do I need for Google Play?
At least 12, opted in to your closed test for the preceding 14 days, if your personal developer account was created after 13 November 2023. Recruit a few more than 12 so one drop-out does not break the window.
How do I know a free tester actually opted in?
You check. On TestersWiz you tick each tester off only once you see them in your closed track's tester list in Play Console, so nobody counts on someone's word.
Does TestersWiz guarantee production access?
No. Google alone decides who gets production access, so nobody can honestly guarantee it. TestersWiz helps you meet the testing requirement with real testers and gives you evidence you can describe in your application.
